KA’MAURA ELEY

Ka’Maura Eley is driven by passion, a passion that is not just artistic, but spiritual in a special sense of the word. It’s more than the shape, the cut, the color –it’s the aura and the feeling that comes about in expressing someone’s inner self through her interpretation.
“I’ve been doing hair since I was a child braiding my baby doll’s hair,” Eley says.
She has an innate talent from the very beginning that now has blossomed into the fruition of a very lucrative career.
From serving as Key Hair Stylist or Department Head for television shows such as Nickelodeon’s “Just Jordan,” ABC Family Channel’s “Lincoln Heights” and The N’s “South of Nowhere” to working on such movies as Columbia Pictures’ “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” Sony Screen Gems’ “This Christmas.”
In “Playas Ball,” she served as Department Head. These credits are in addition to hair styling support on other television shows such as
NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” HBO’s “Entourage” and CBS’ “Ghost Whisperer.”
Ka’Maura believes in doing things the right way, which motivated her to get the training and hours required to become a member of Union Local 706.
She loves the challenge of working outside of the salon on movies, plays and television. “It allows me to do things outside of my comfort zone.”
“I really care. I try to go above and beyond. I stay current in what’s going on with the trends and whatever is hot right now.
Eley is the one who works into the wee hours of the morning designing a particular wig or hair piece for just the right look for on set for the next day.
And her creativity doesn’t stop there. Her ultimate goal is to create her own product line, and hopefully garner a couple of Emmys to shine on her mantle. That’s so very, so very…… Ka’Maura!
